Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
The purpose of Behavior Safety Associates’ personal protective equipment (PPE) services includes hazard assessment, a written PPE policy, as well as PPE use and maintenance training. It establishes your organization’s minimum requirements for the selection and use of PPE. PPE is used to protect body parts from inhalation, absorption or physical contact when it is impractical to eliminate hazards by implementing engineering revisions to equipment or by safeguarding employees from environmental hazards per 29 CFR 1910.132(a).
Behavior Safety Associates professionals will determine the PPE requirements of each facility by an analysis of the hazards present. The wearing of PPE appropriate for the type of work being conducted must be required of all personnel as a condition of employment, and as a condition of entry onto all your facilities.
Our team of professionals will determine if other specific types of PPE may be required from time-to-time depending on the type of work being conducted and the materials being handled. On an annual basis the facility's Personal Protective Equipment Program will be audited by Behavior Safety Associates, LLC. The audit will determine if the facility is adhering to this written program, as well as the requirements of the OSHA, 29 CFR 1910.132, .133, .135, .136 and .138 Personal Protective Equipment Standards. This documentation must be maintained for 3 years.
